Arisa's Work

"Arisa-dono, check these ones next."
"Okay~, got it~."
I acknowledge Consul Nina's request from the other side of the paperwork tower.
We are currently in Consul Nina's office in Muno Castle. I move the documents I was looking at over the side, and focus on the new documents brought over by the clerk Yuyurina.
"Let's see--"
I perform the calculations using an abacus, which I had learned way back when I was in grade school.
Back when I was working in accounting, we would just do this stuff in spreadsheets or calculators. But my only other option here is some weird slide rule thing. That's why the abacus ended up being so useful.
You never know when these kinds of things come in handy.
"Done, about 20% error. Looks like some naughty boy has been slipping funds into his pocket."
"Tch, just as I thought."
Consul Nina makes a pained face as I hand her the completed documents.
The head financial clerk apparently took his entire family and fled during the battle at Muno City, so there's not much we can do about it. Well, they ended up getting killed by bandits afterwords, so whatever.
"Maybe you could start doing double-entry bookkeeping?"
"--Double-entry?"
Huh, I guess they don't have that in this world?
There should have been at least one hero or reincarnated person that had this kind of basic accounting knowledge. Maybe those techniques are just being used behind the scenes and not known to the general public.
At Consul Nina's request, I begin to explain the basics and merits of double-entry bookkeeping.
"Hmm, Arisa-dono's home country seems to have some excellent technology."
"Yeah, I guess so."
She seems impressed, but I just respond with a vague answer to avoid the subject.
We set up a meeting for me to instruct the head accountant about double-entry bookkeeping. Afterwards, I hear a knock from the door.
"I've brought tea and snacks."
A black-haired beautiful girl pops through the door. As usual, I'm envious of my sister's beautiful body.
"Hm, already that time? Alright, let's take a break."
At Consul Nina's words, I jump down from my large chair and we head over to the reception table in the corner of the office.
"These are some strange looking snacks."
"Yes, this is the 'cheese souffle' that Master created. They go very well with tea."
I listen to their conversation as I sink into the sofa. The exhaustion is catching up to me.
"Is Arisa being helpful?"
"Indeed, it's like my workload has been reduced in half. It would be great if she would join permanently as my assistant."
Consul Nina answers Lulu's question in a serious tone.
Well, I knew she appreciated my effort, but I didn't know she would go that far.
"It's not just her impressive work, she also shows excellent creativity."
Consul Nina takes a sip of the tea, and then shows Lulu the delivery and classification box at her side.
"This 'delivery box' was Arisa's idea. Because of this, transporting documents has become more efficient. The clerks don't need to run around nearly as much."
Ehehe, I'll blush if you compliment me that much.
To hide my embarrassment, I chug down the tea and take a bite of the cream-topped cheese souffle.
"--So good!"
The cake filled with Master's love revitalizes me.
Now time to finish up the rest of the work!
